Underwear Guy Review: Sears Covington Bikini Brief Review
Designer/Manufacturer: Covington
Website: www.sears.com
Price: $12.00 3-Pack

Covington is an exclusive clothing label available for purchase at Sears stores and Sears.com online. The Covington underwear line is part of a comprehensive lineup of men's underwear offered by Sears covering a range of styles and colors from regular white briefs to fashion briefs that include bikinis, trunks and boxer briefs. This review covers the ribbed cotton Covington Bikinis sold in a plastic-boxed package of 3 and available in a variety of prints and solid colors. Not unlike the Hanes Textures line make sure to check for the "ribbed" fabric version of these bikinis as I have seen non-ribbed cotton versions as well. The 100% cotton material has an ample amount of stretch to it and a nice level of thickness that feels substantial and is soft and comfortable for all-day wear. The cut of Covington underwear varies and I found these bikinis to be just a hair big in my normal medium size but after a good washing and drying cycle they fit fairly well with just some slight excess material cut in the back seat. In typical bikini brief fashion the 3/4" tall elastic waistband is fully-covered and has not adornment or graphic treatments. The double-sided wash/care and fabric contents tag is located in the usual interior-back of the brief sewn at the base of the waistband and measures 1 1/4 square. The fabric tag is made of a very smooth nylon material which is very soft and comfortable to wear-something I wish more underwear companies would employ in their manufacturing.

As mentioned earlier the backside of this bikini has a fairly full cut to it which narrows down on the sides to 3/4" tall (not including the waistband). The design of the bikini has a double-layer shaped front pouch that helps prevent any crushing feeling and provides some good shaping to your package. You won't find the benefits of a pouch that is as uniquely designed as other premium underwear lines like 2Xist or C-In2 but overall I'd give the pouch a solid score for a department store line. If you are a guy that needs or like a little extra room up front I can recommend these bikinis as the pouch is cut with more room than average and the material provides quite a bit of stretch allowance.

The Grades:
Fit: B+ The front fit of these bikinis is good, worth an A- but the backside fit could use some improvement thus the lowered B+ as a compromise. I found these bikinis performed well for all-day wearing and were comfortable enough for a variety of wearing scenarios including lounging and some athletic activities. Pouch Fit
Regular
Design: A- These are basic bikinis so it's not surprising to find out there isn't a lot to attribute to the design category but the variety of color and pattern choices provide some fun alternatives to plain white or black and the ribbed cotton provides some nice visual texture..
Material: A

The ribbed cotton is an excellent blend and makes for a very comfortable wearing experience. As mentioned in the review I liked the thickness to the fabric which felt a little more substantial than a lot of other multi-pack bikini underwear.

Construction: A

The construction on these Covington briefs exhibited solidly built seams with no lose threads and an even cut that results in a positive score for the manufacturing standards.

Overall Grade: A- Despite the drawbacks on the fit, all the other scores are solid and I found these budget-priced briefs a pleasant surprise.

Would I buy another pair? Yes, although with 3 in each pack you get a great deal but I would buy another package if I were interested in buying more bikinis.

Thank you for reviewing these, and bringing them to my attention. I often forget that Sears still even exists. I'll have to find the one most nearby to check these out. I do see how in the picture they seem to bunch up in the rear, which is unfortunate. The Sears web site says they are on sale until November 17 for $9 for a 3 pack

I have a couple of packs of these, and they are some of my favorites. They fit well in the front which is always a concern for me as I have a larger than average package. A lot of the bikinis out there will crush and be uncomfortable, but not these. I do have to add that these are probably my favorite ones to sleep in, so you should try it. I would absolutely buy these again.

These remind me a lot of the old "Underwear Exchange" bikini briefs from Target, which I loved. I wish they still made those.

I tried these covington bikini style underwear, and again they are the most comfortable underwear i have put one, especially in the front, holding my package. They hold it in place, but dont squish it and they look pretty good, and they for the most part are extremely reasonably priced. I agree too that they are my most favorite underwear to sleep in also....

Thanks for your review of what I think they call the Covington Heather Brief. These are very comfortable. However, I think the Sears Covington Heather bikini (aka sports brief) is actually more comfortable (the heather provides more support than the rib material). Please review these. Also, the Sears site has rave reviews about the Covington nylon bikinis. There is some question about sizing. Please review and provide help with sizing.

I agree, I'm more of a boxer brief guy but I bought some of these on a whim and found them to be very comfortable. By far the best bikinis I have ever worn, I don't wear them all the time but always enjoy them when I do. Great for sleeping in as well.

I very much like the Covington Ribbed bikinis from Sears. 100% cotton & plenty of room for your endowment. I normally wear a M, but with the Sears brand I like the S ... still plenty of room for the boys!!!

I like the covington bikinis very much. I have worn these for a few years now. The low-rise brief is a nice fit also. Both have plenty of room for the boys. The NYLON bikinis do run BIG. recommend one size smaller. Very nice for the summer. I also like the covington tighty-whities but I prefer the stafford low rise tighty-whities.

Hey, thanks for the review. I need to try them sometime. They remind me of bikinis sold at Fred Meyer, which are excellent. They call them sport briefs though. Maybe you should review those, but you can't buy them online though.

    These are the best!
I bought this same EXACT style years ago at Marshalls, they were called PREMIO Sport Brief. I had some stored away. I am glad I can buy a whole new supply now at Sears! You have to try these!
