Mundo Unico Brazilian T Thong Review

Underwear Guy Review: Mundo Unico Classic Thong / Brazilian T Thong
Designer/Manufacturer: Mundo Unico
Website: www.unicointerior.com
Price: $12.50-$15.00

A follow-up request came in for a review of the Mundo Unico Brazilian T Thong so here is my take on this now classic design. The last few years Mundo Unico has branched out from their original line of solid colors and cotton blend underwear offered in a brief, boxer brief and thong style so it’s kind of interesting to go back to the classic original style and see how they hold up. As usual, Unico employs a nicely stretchable and breathable blend of 93% cotton and 7% spandex for the pouch and back panel material. This fabric blend has a soft touch to it which is comfortable for all-day wear keeping its original shape throughout a variety of activities. There are a broad range of colors to choose from in the classics line including standard black and white as well as bright hues of red, turquoise, orange, lime-green and yellow. Unico is well-known for using a non-standard sizing scheme for their underwear lines so just make sure you go up a size due to the smaller fit and you’ll be fine. The front utilizes the Unico suspensor pouch which provides a nice amount of lift and support although keep in mind it is single-layer fabric so modesty could be an issue. The seams are stitched in a contrasting color which provides a nice design element while keeping a clean minimalist look.

The back strap in this t-thong is a minimal ¼” which helps make for a comfortable wearing experience-you won’t really notice the strap most of the time. The 1” tall waistband with “Unico” text woven along the length terminates in the back into a fabric panel constructed out of the same material as the rest of the garment. The back panel is a doubled-over area of fabric about 8” wide and at its tallest point in the center running 2”. On the exterior of the back panel is a screen printed Mundo Unico logo and on the interior of the panel is the material and care information tag (1.5” X 1.3/4”) sewn flat. Probably the only area of this thong that could use a little improvement would be the waistband. The Cin-2 and 2xist microfiber waistband styles are very comfortable with a smooth exterior finish and brushed interior facing and I think Unico could benefit from similar treatment for their waistbands. As they currently stands the Unico waistbands are functional but just a bit rough-feeling by comparison.

The Grades:
Fit: A Overall excellent fit (once you size up of course) with a good length on the strap and a comfortable pouch. Pouch Fit
Regular
Design: A The bright colors are still fun to wear and the t-thong styling in the back is particularly commendable.
Material: A-

Comfortable and functional, the extra spandex in the blend helps keep the score high in the material category. Just a slight hit on the score for the waistband which could be a little thicker and softer to the touch.

Construction: A

I own more than a few pairs of Unico underwear and construction is always top-notch. Good seams and even pattern cuts on this t-thong reflect good standards of quality in the construction department.

Overall Grade: A

Comfort, fit and fashionable while also a very reasonable price running from around $12 to $15 depending on the retailer makes for a solid overall score. I would recommend this thong to people who might not normally wear underwear in this style category as it’s a good introduction to wearing them.

Would I buy another pair? Yes, with the variety of colors, the excellent price-point and the high quality I would seriously consider another Mundo Unico thong purchase in the future.

i wear Mens Thong Underwear - Cotton Lycra Style 7623 from flexables.com

the thong at the gym works for me but they do also have Bikini/Brief Styles.

i would not wear a thong 24/7 all year long.
