While on my last trip to Wal-Mart for the Life Underwear Cotton String Bikini purchase I noticed the Hanes underwear on display and realized that there are some important product differences I should point out. If you’ve read my reviews of the Hanes Bikini and String Bikini you’ll know that I liked them due in no small part to the innovative “Textures” fabric. What I’ve noticed recently is that you can inadvertently buy the same Hanes underwear in an identical cut but not get the same fabric. As I understand it, the Textures fabric is new and is slowly replacing the original, less comfortable cotton/polyester style. To help you out here I’ve noted what you would want to avoid.

The oldest style of packaging uses a white background that you can still find online and in stores. The next update has a different model with a red background but this is still not the Textures fabric line. Look for the red background in the packaging but most importantly an additional sticker on the exterior of the plastic packaging that says “Texture Fabrics” on it. This is the underwear to buy if you want the same type that I gave high marks to earlier in the year.
