Winter has set in around my corner of the planet and that means much colder temperatures. I thought it would be natural to add a review of a seldom seen but very nice pair of Calvin Klein Body Long Johns which are seasonably available right now. As I understand it, this particular item in the Body underwear line is not available year round but pops up in late fall and winter when the temperatures drop and long underwear becomes more desirable. I purchased my pair directly from Calvin Klein at www.cku.com for $24.50. These long johns are available in just 2 colors: black and white, in a soft 100% cotton fabric. The cotton is a medium weight with a fair amount of stretch to it despite the lack of any lycra. If you’re familiar with the CK Body line you’ll recognize many of the same features in these long johns including the supportive and enhancing double-layer pouch design, the basic 1 ½” elastic waistband with Calvin Klein logo repeated around and the finely ribbed cotton. Rather than repeat some of the general background on the Body line I suggest you read my other two reviews for more information including the Body Thong and Hip Brief styles. Some differences from the regular body line include a slightly higher rise on the waist and a looser fit around the pouch. The looser fit isn’t derived from any change in the signature Body pouch design itself but because of the way the legs fit around the interior at the base of the pouch. These are still much more form fitting and body-conscious than most long johns so I give high marks to CK for bringing some style to a typically ill-fitting underwear type. The ankle cuffs are about 2 ¾” and the overall length of the legs works well for taller guys. The fit is true-to-size with the mediums working for a 32”-34” waist.

As usual Calvin Klein underwear exhibits excellent quality with very clean seams and even stitching throughout including along the entire length of the legs. |

This is a very limited category of underwear so it’s great to see CK adding their take on long johns. Mundo Unico’s long johns are a bit better in the design department but because this is such a small category I’m being a bit more lenient and going for a full A. |

Would I buy another pair? Yes, at the reasonable price it wouldn’t hurt to pick up another pair including one in black. | ||
