H & M Zebra Print Brief Review

Underwear Guy Review: H & M Zebra Print Brief
Designer/Manufacturer: H & M
Website: www.hm.com

Price: $12.90

Although there aren’t any H & M stores in my local area I had the opportunity to travel recently where there was one and of course I took advantage to stock up on H & M brand underwear. I believe most people are familiar with H & M but in case you aren’t they are a global chain of clothing stores that sells house-branded merchandise that is usually more fashionable than what you might find in a Gap or Old Navy store but at similar low prices and good quality. The H & M brand originates from Sweden so there is a lot of European-inspired design to be found in their fashion lines. H & M men’s underwear selection is fairly extensive with a variety of prints and materials in brief, boxer squarecut and boxer-brief styles. These zebra-print briefs were a fun find for myself but in case you aren’t into such wild designs there are more standard colors and patterns available in the same cut. The material is a very stretchable 95% cotton 5% spandex that is lightweight and very soft to the touch making for a comfortable wearing experience. The zebra print on the cotton is dyed into the white fabric color so you won’t have to worry about unsightly silkscreened ink cracking or peeling over time. The 1 ¼” waistband is mostly no-frills, lacking any texturizing on the inside but it’s smooth to the touch and quite comfortable. The sizing on H & M underwear is consistently standard with these mediums working well for the stated 32” – 34” waist. The wash/care tag in back is a bit excessive running 1” wide by 2 ½” tall with two overlapping tags to accommodate the various language translations but at least it’s a light-weight, slick, synthetic material that doesn’t cause any irritation. The dark red contrasting waistband is mirrored with the same ¼” color piping on the leg-bands and on the sides of the functional fly-front. Although not aggressively designed, there is a dual-layer pouch that provides improved room and comfort over a completely flat-front style. The back is full coverage as should be expected from a brief cut.

The Grades:
Fit: A I was happy with the fit provided by comfortable design and even though the pouch isn’t going to win any awards, it works out well for a brief cut.
Design: A The design of this brief is classic and yet very different with the exposed elastic waistband, wide piping on the legs and fly-front contrasted with a wild zebra print.
Material: A+

The softness of the cotton blend can’t be beat and the increased stretch means these briefs will work well for all-day wear.

Construction: A-

Given the low price I was happily surprised that the construction quality on H & M underwear is still very good with clean seams and only some slight variations in the stitching evident.

Overall Grade: A

If you like classic brief style underwear with a twist then I recommend you try out H & M underwear.

Would I buy another pair? Yes, I bought several pairs in different prints and patterns and was pleased with all of them.

Where To Buy:
Since these are H & M briefs you will have to walk, drive or fly to your nearest H & M store and buy them in-person.

Wear Recommendations:

For us Europeans, H&M clothes & undies are pretty basic and 'day to day'. They're fun, but I had too many of them.

For us, H&M is not special at all...
