Mansilk Silk Knit Sport Bikini Review

Underwear Guy Review: Mansilk Silk Knit Sport Bikini
Designer/Manufacturer: Mansilk by Mary Green
Website: www.mansilk.com
Price: $20

Mansilk underwear is a line of silk men's underwear created by San Francisco-based fashion designer Mary Green. Her company was founded in 1985 and has continued to produce high-quality luxury underwear for women and men for over 20 years. Mansilk items are available in a broad variety of cuts and silk blends including long underwear, boxers, boxer-briefs, briefs, bikinis and thongs. The color options are varied with some styles available in no less than 11 different colors and certain cuts available in prints or patterns. This review features the Mansilk Silk Knit sport bikini which I purchased in the lime color from FreshPair.com. These bikinis reminded me a lot of the Mundo Unico sport bikini as they both share an exposed white elastic waistband (1 ¼” tall) and a pouch front with a full coverage back and are available in a variety of bright colors. This particular item is made from a very stretchy and light-weight 95% silk and 5% spandex blend that is very soft and comfortable to wear. The interior of the waistband is a bit no-frills without any texturizing to soften the fit but it’s not too big a deal as the material is comfortable enough as is. There is a nice, bold contrast-color woven “M” Mansilk block tag sewn on the front of the bikini which I think was a nice design choice to lend a masculine look to the underwear. The wash/care tag on the inside back of the waistband is thankfully a bit more subtle and less obtrusive than some other tags running at a 1 ¾” wide by ¾” tall on the main logo tag and ¾” by 1” on the separate size/material tag. The front pouch is single-layer which in the case of this particular material means a very exposed profile. Depending on your level of modesty and the environment in which you might be seen with these on e.g. gym there might be some issues as very little is left to the imagination. The pouch design and shape is almost an identical match to the Unico line but unlike Mundo Unico the overall sizing of Mansilk is true meaning these mediums worked fine for me when an Unico bikini would have to be a size large to fit right.

The Grades:
Fit: A Everything fit well from front to back and I liked the shape of the pouch so a good score in this category.
Design: A I like the way the sporty design of this brief helps to counter the expectations and/or assumptions of what silk underwear should be.
Material: A

Sometimes silk can be problematic if it’s the wrong kind of weave/blend since it can be stiff but this knit spandex combination works out great. You might consider this a good item for warmer weather when a lighter-weight material that still breathes well would make sense.

Construction: A

Everything is cleanly sewn with the seams and stitches straight and even. I appreciate the clean edges of the fabric cut where the pouch and back join the waistband.

Overall Grade: A

As long as you consider the thinness of the material when making wearing decisions I think you’ll find these silk sport bikinis a fun and useful addition to your underwear drawer.

Would I buy another pair? Yes, I think a different color could be fun and certainly I’m interested in trying the other cuts available in the same material.

Where To Buy:
There are not too many places selling Mansilk underwear although that’s not too big an issue as you can order all the cuts and colors directly from Mary Green’s website at Mansilk.com: Product Page. Other online sites stocking this item include FreshPair.com: Product Page and BareNecessities.com: Product Page.

I was wondering - your profile while wearing the Mansilk Sport Bikini is so pronounced - is it natural for this Mansilk item to pronounce your penis and testes to this extent, or were you wearing an enhancer underneath (arab strap, ball lifter, eg) - just wondering....

Hello Dave thanks for your question. The Mansilk Sport Bikini is quite simply a great design if you like showing off since the material is thin and clingy and the pouch really is very well-designed to give you a lot of lift up front. So no enhancer, just a good cut in a revealing fabric that does wonders.
