Underwear Guy Review: N2N Bodywear Net Hip Brief (Bikini)

Rounding out the trio of N2N Bodywear items that I've reviewed this last weekend is this Net Hip Brief. For the sake of keeping things from getting too revealing I wore the N2N Brushed Tactel string underneath the mesh but the review will pertain to wearing just the net hip brief by itself. N2N Bodywear sells a variety of mainstream men's underwear items as well as a complete lineup of erotic intimate wear. The "net" line by N2N Bodywear consists of a variety of cuts including string, thongs, briefs, trunks and this hip brief in black, white and red colors. I'm categorizing this "brief" as a bikini given the minimal cut, thin covered waistband and low rise. The hip brief cut is low rise like most N2N items with just enough to cover the front and back but no more. The waistband is composed of a 3/4" tall covered elastic band with a lot of stretch allowed. I purchased these in a medium and like most N2N items they fit true-to-size especially given the high degree of stretch allowed by the very open mesh weave of the fabric. When I searched on the web to get the fabric composition information I noticed several different combinations which leaves me to wonder which one is true. I don't know for sure since this item does not have a fabric content or wash/care label so I'm going to go with the N2N Bodywear site that says this is 100% nylon. The only tag included on this bikini is a small, roughly 1/2" square size tag attached below a logo tag that is 3/4" wide by a little over 1/2" tall sewn to the interior back of the waistband. Since this net material doesn't have any structure to it the 1/4" elastic bands for the legs help to keep things in place. This is a flat front and back design with side seams on the right and left of the brief which narrows to just 1 1/2" tall including waistband height. Although there isn't a pouch in this particular design, the overall wearability is still good given the stretch in the net material. Nothing felt too tight and there was still good support created by the conforming nature of the fabric.

The Grades:
Fit: A The fit on this bikini brief was good. Although very low rise the coverage (not visual coverage of course) was good in back and front. You'll undoubtedly find this to be more revealing than most underwear with the backside just barely covered but that's a typical N2N design.
Design: C+/B- Mesh underwear isn't exactly a new thing on the market so I'm not inclined to give a big score with the design. I think more color selections would help make this an interesting item and perhaps some sort of graphic treatment with the N2N logo would be cool, otherwise this is a very plain bikini brief-not that plain isn't all right sometimes. I think it depends on what you're looking for so my personal opinion is C+ but I think for a lot of people this is good enough so a B- if you feel less picky about design options.
Material: A

If we limit this to functioning purely as an erotic intimate-wear item then I think the material does the job with a very revealing open mesh quality.

Construction: A

I've had very few issues with N2N items to date and this underwear item seems to continue the positive streak with solid construction all-around.

Overall Grade: B+/A-

If you're more of a design guy then yes, these are a bit boring so go with the B+ score. If you just want a minimal mesh net bikini brief then I can recommend this item as a good choice.

Would I buy another pair? I'd consider the red color just for fun but this is such a singular-use item I'm not likely to purchase more.
