Underwear Guy Review: N2N Bodywear Raider Wrestler

This review is a bit of a departure from the traditional underwear items as I'm trying out the N2N Bodywear Raider Singlet for a change which doesn't fit into any of the previous categories. I don't intend to start regularly reviewing bodygear types of items but I have a couple of other singlets that I may highlight to round out the category. I reviewed the N2N Bodywear Raider Runner not too long ago and wasn't particularly impressed with the fit. This time around is a little different with the singlet turning out to be a reasonable purchase. The raider line from N2N Bodywear is characterized by a unique 83% nylon 17% spandex blend fabric with hundreds of small holes punched through to create a net texture. The raider line is available in a variety of colors with this singlet manufactured in white, black and ice blue. All colors of the raider wrestler include 1/4" black piping covering all the exposed edges except for the legs which are simply doubled-over and sewn flat. There is a clear rubber N2N logo on the upper back about 1 1/8" wide by 3/4" tall while the paper-based wash and care tag is on the interior upper back sized at 1" wide by 2" tall. The legs extend about 7" from the hip with a flat front and a seam in the center back. Not surprisingly there isn't a pouch design included in the wrestler which is normal for this type of gear but the stretchability of the fabric allows for a reasonable fit up front. The upper shoulder straps are 1 1/2" wide with the back piece running 2 3/4" wide (both measurements include the contrast black piping). If you've read the raider runner review you'll note that I had issues with the pants not staying up properly but thankfully the wrestler design doesn't have those problems so I'm more comfortable giving these a positive recommendation. The N2N Raider wrestler is available in standard sizes which reflects both the waist and overall body dimensions. I found these mediums worked fine for a standard 32"-33" waist and there's enough stretch in the material to accommodate most heights.

The Grades:
Fit: A Wrestlers generally have a fairly uniform design and fit although there are still ways they can go wrong. Thankfully everything seems to fit well with the raider design and the stretch of the material allows for a good range of movement.
Design: A- It's nice having a few color options and the contrast piping helps to highlight the cut of the material. The material concept certainly lends a unique visual to what is normally a solid spandex/lycra blend.
Material: B

As I listed in the Runner review, the nylon is comfortable but not necessarily soft to the touch so I'm continuing with the solid "B" grade on the material.

Construction: A

All the seams were accomplished with straight lines and the stitching was very clean. I'm happy to report no loose threads to be found.

Overall Grade: A-

I'm going with a high score here with the caveat that these are most likely going to be a limited-wear and use item for yourself. I wouldn't expect lots of every-day wear mileage from this wrestler but If you want to have some fun with a unique undergear item then you might want to try it out.

Would I buy another pair? Perhaps although I'm not sure what I'd do with more than one of these.
