Skinxwear Enhancer Hip Brief Review

Underwear Guy Review: Skinxwear Enhancer Hip Brief
Designer/Manufacturer: Skinxwear
Website: www.skinxwear.com
Price: $10.00 (Approximate)

The second-place pick from the recent reader poll was this Skinxwear Enhancer Hip Brief which I bought online from an eBay seller in Malaysia. I don't know too much about Skinxwear since it isn't sold in the US but what I've been able to track down is that it is (I believe) a Malaysian-based company with a fairly broad range of men's underwear in a variety of cuts including thongs, bikinis, hip briefs and trunks with varying materials colors and patterns depending on the line. The styles of Skinxwear trend towards more minimal coverage and revealing, thin fabrics or mesh so I would draw a close parallel to N2N Bodywear in terms of an equivalent US-based designer. This particular hip brief is from the "Enhancer" line which is packaged in a very nicely produced metallic gold box with model photos on the front and a round circle die-cut in the back. English text is printed for all the information including the product descriptions and size ranges. There are several color options for the profile line including white, black, red and this tan color. The fabric is a blend of 95% tencel and 5% spandex and is very stretchy but also very thin so you will find that you get a "molding" effect from the fit. The exposed waistband is a thinner style at 1" tall and has embossed "Skinxwear" logo text repeated all over front to back.

Even though this is a label based out of Asia which typically means the sizes runs smaller, I would say that at least this particular line runs true-to-size with this medium selection working out fine for myself. The logo tag in back of the waistband is about 2 1/4" wide by 1" tall with an attached fabric content/care label at the base which is 1" square. The covered-elastic leg-bands are 1/4" and very stretchy. The back is full-coverage and the sides narrow to a minimal 1" from the base of the waistband. The front pouch is single-layer and, combined with the thinness of the material, won't leave too much to guess on the exterior view. The "enhancing" effect of this brief is achieved just through the shape and cut of the pouch so there isn't any particularly special technology at play here like a sling or pocket. I would say the pouch is a lot like the N2N Tropic line with a good amount of lift created but your results will vary a lot depending on your personal "build" down there. Because of the shape and stretch of the pouch I would recommend this line for anyone who likes more room up-front.

The Grades:
Fit: A With a stretch fabric like this there's a lot more accommodation for the fit design but the cut of this hip brief worked well regardless of material with a nice, light feeling while still getting a decent amount of lift and support up-front. The pouch is extra-roomy for those of you who might like more space. Pouch Fit
Regular
Design: B+/A- The design is a little plain but the bikini-style cut with an exposed waistband is a nice touch and I'm glad they offered more than just black and white for color options so I'm going to with a positive score for design.
Material: A

Those of you familiar with the N2N Bodywear Tropic line will find this fabric blend very similar: it's soft, stretches and feels very smooth to the touch-which is a good thing.

Construction: A

I didn't see any issues with the construction with clean stitching and even pattern cut all-around.

Overall Grade: A

Given the extra-low price I was happy with my purchase. These may not be my favorite pair of underwear to date but they are a strong addition and I can recommend them for someone looking for something a little more revealing and light-weight.

Would I buy another pair? Yes, I would consider a follow-up purchase of these briefs.

Where To Buy:
At least if you're in the US I think your best bet is eBay. I purchased these from this seller (whom I have no affiliations with): CK-Boss-Ent and there are other sellers who also offers Skinxwear items including: skinxwear and PhiloGifts (have ordered several times without any problems from this seller). I know there are retailers in asia that also stock Skinxwear underwear including Metro Paragon in Singapore: Website.
