Giulio Underwear is a manufacturer of men's underwear based out of Spain. You may have not heard much about Giulio since they haven't made efforts to bring their products to the international markets until recently and you've probably just started seeing more of Giulio in the last couple of years. Currently, you can find Giulio in online stores in the form of thongs, briefs, trunks, and boxer briefs in a variety of colors, patterns and designs. This review covers the Timeland Trunk/Boxer Brief which is a classically styled pair of underwear suitable for a variety of activities. This particular Giulio item is available in just this one cut and one color/pattern which is light blue with white stripes. Having learned my lesson with a previous Giulio purchase, I made sure to buy this item in a large size as all Giulio underwear runs a full size smaller than standard North American ranges. The fabric and composition of Giulio underwear varies from product to product but this one is made from a 7% polyester, 7% spandex and 86% rayon blend which is very smooth, feels strong and has a medium level of stretch.

The waistband is fully-covered elastic measuring 1 1/8" tall and includes a blue Giulio logo printed on the center-front but is otherwise white. The logo tag can be found on the center-back of the inside of the waistband and measures 2" wide by 1" tall. Attached below the logo tag is where you'll find the 1 1/8" square fabric content and wash/care tag. The legs of this trunk measure 9 1/2" not including the waistband with an inseam that creates a medium to regular rise on the waist. The leg-bands do not include any elastic but their fit and function is good with a 1/2" finished edge. The front is a basic seamed pouch design with a functional fly accented by classically styled 3/8" white piping. The pouch is designed to provide support and comfort and does not employ any special engineering for shaping or lift.

The Grades:

Fit:	A	I found the fit (post size-up) to be very good with enough stretch in the material to feel comfortable throughout the day. I was pleased that the legs were not too tight as this can be a common problem for me. The pouch certainly isn't revolutionary but it makes for a very good wearing experience.	Pouch Fit
Design:	A	Giulio typically does a good job of including consideration for design into their underwear lines and this Timeland trunk sports some nice features with the stripes and contrast piping.
Material:	A	This fabric blend feels great when wearing this trunk and I was pleased with the apparent durability as well.
Construction:	A	Giulio underwear is usually made to a very high standard of quality and this trunk definitely reflects that. The seams were sewn very cleanly, the fabric edges were finished very nicely and the pattern was cut evenly.
Overall Grade:	A	I'm pleased with my purchase even after I considered the higher price-point as these feel like a very solid and attractive pair of underwear that will be wearable for quite some time.
Would I buy another pair? Yes, I am interested to try some other Giulio styles but I would also consider buying another pair of this trunk as well.
