AussieBum Bamboo BriefBikini BriefSeamless underwear can be hit or miss depending on the material and the cut of the garment. I'm not typically a fan of seamless underwear as past experiments of often felt constricting, overly synthetic or unflattering to your body but there are advantages to this style of underwear if it's executed correctly. Seamless underwear can be very comfortable with a smooth fit that has minimal edges on the fabric and an eye-catching body-contouring visual look. AussieBum released their bamboo line of seamless underwear a while ago but this is my first review of anything from that line so far. The bamboo hip brief is available in a selection of colors that includes light blue, tan, olive, white, black and yellow. There is a trunk version in the bamboo line as well that includes all the same colors. The fabric is fairly stretchy with a strong rebound on the elastic which makes this garment feel durable and good for extended wearing and washing. The waistband design is eye-catching with a silver finish and various AussieBum logos repeated around in a random fashion. The logo and accent stripe colors on the waistband are different depending on the main color but for the yellow version I purchased it was a dark blue. Sizing for the bamboo line is just a hair snugger than normal AussieBum and it's often the case that seamless underwear is intentionally more like a compression garment than standard cotton blend fabrics. I would say you can potentially order a size up but I did just fine with my normal mediums. The large format AussieBum logo patch is sewn flat against the center-back of the waistband and measures 3" wide by 2 1/2" tall. The back of this brief is full coverage and includes fully-covered elastic on the leg-bands which measures 5/16" across.

An element unique to AussieBum's seamless underwear engineering that you won't find in other men's underwear is the precise weaving of the material that creates a pattern of reinforced structures like a support web. This web is designed to help define your backside and thus give more form and create less of a flattening feel/look. The same engineering is applied to the pouch in order to provide some better shaping than you might normally expect from a seamless brief. Although the pouch includes those strategic reinforcement webs I would still say that like most seamless underwear the front is going to be more flattening than typical pouch underwear. The material is fairly snug and thus keeps everything somewhat form fitted-in the pouch, it's a fit that you might have to get used to but it's comfortable and smooth at the same time. The single-layer material is fairly revealing of outlines so keep that in mind in regards to your level of modesty.

The Grades:
Fit: A Although I still prefer pouch-fit seamed underwear this is probably one of the best seamless underwear designs you'll find. The extra engineering with the structured web is excellent and something that's long overdue for men's underwear (women's underwear has had this for a long time). Pouch Fit
Snug
Design: A The waistband is fairly standard AussieBum design but it's eye-catching and adds something fun to the visual look. The color options are muted but provide extra variety and the tag is high-quality if, perhaps a bit large.
Material: A+ The bamboo material feels great when wearing, it's soft, provides a lot of stretch and is smooth to the touch.
Construction: A+ AussieBum is always really good with their construction quality and I did not find any loose threads or bad seams. Something I always check for are clean fabric edges on on the seam at the waistband and my bamboo brief was incredibly expertly finished with a perfect edge all the way around.
Overall Grade: A If you're looking for seamless underwear definitely check out the AussieBum bamboo line, the structure, design and fit all work nicely to make for a solid all-day every-day addition to your underwear drawer.
Would I buy another pair? Yes, I would consider another pair of these briefs especially with the variety of colors available which keeps things more interesting.

Where To Buy:
The seamless bamboo brief is probably easiest to find at AussieBum: Product Page but there are also select retailers that sell the briefs and trunks as well including UnderU4Men which supports phone orders.
