Welcome to the Underwear Advertising Archive. Fashion is an industry that relies heavily on imagery to engage and sell consumers on the products being offered. Throughout the decades of fashion advertising men's underwear has undergone many evolutions and transformations that reflect the always-changing cultural norms and trends of-the-moment. The style, format and messaging of a given advertisement can often convey many interesting clues including the era they were originally written in and the mindset of the intended audience. Over the years I've kept some of the various printed media from various sources including magazines, catalogs, packaging, postcards and books that featured men's underwear. In this archive you'll see some of my favorite image selections ranging from just this week to over 10 years ago. In many cases you'll see underwear styles long forgotten and models you might recognize from back in the day. I'll be adding to the archive regularly so check back for the latest new images along with my thoughts and comments. I look forward to hearing from you as well, please add your comments about the underwear, the model or the underwear label.
